Ballman History
Our Founding
Ballman Elementary School was completed in 1950 and officially opened its doors in January 1951. The school was named in honor of Edward C. and Mary Louise Ballman. Edward Ballman, a prominent furniture manufacturer and Indiana native, was instrumental in founding several furniture companies. He passed away on July 13, 1923, at the age of 64.
Ballman Elementary was constructed during a period of rapid population growth due to the expansion of Fort Chaffee. The school was built to alleviate overcrowding at Peabody Elementary School, providing much-needed educational space for the community.

Our Achievements
Ballman Elementary is proud to be a School Wide Title 1 school and has the distinguished honor of being recognized as a Blue Ribbon School. The school is accredited by both the North Central Association and the Arkansas Department of Education.
In 2017, Ballman Elementary was selected to receive the Arkansas PLC (Professional Learning Community) Pilot Project Grant for the 2017-18 school year, further enhancing our commitment to educational excellence.
